Born in the UK and raised in South Africa, Francesca Roberts is an artist that explores the concepts of 'home' and comfort, while pushing composition and colour in a playful way.

In 2017 she completed a Painting Honours in Fine Art and Visual Culture at Rhodes University, South Africa, and has been producing work for private collectors ever since.

From flowers to lemons, Roberts often references kitsch iconography in her naive style to capture a unique view of the things that surround her.

Through trauma and passion for history, Francesca's work challenges her femininity, and the impulse to seek an edge in gentle things. Painting from her subconscious is evident in the subject matter of her work, often impulsively playing with complimentary colours and texture.

When Francesca is not painting or drawing, she can be found at work as a gallery manager in Brighton, or playing with a million craft projects, gardening and telling jokes.
